Major hospitals in Kerala have conducted unethical experiments on patients. The dreadful fact was revealed by a TV Channel called ‘India Vision’, after their two-month long, hard investigation. It is becoming a hot discussion. Protests are progressing statewide on the issue.
In almost a hundred-thousand people the experiments were conducted. About a hundred patents died of the experiment all along the trial. This is under the influence of multinational drug companies. There are also agents and brokers who fetch the patients to the hospitals. Their rewards vary from a few hundreds to thousands. It seems that involved doctors accepted lots
The hospitals include Medical Colleges, Amrita Hospital, HRC Trivandrum and a few more. Their version is that they conducted these experiments only with the consent of the patients!!!
The documents doctors ask to sign any ignorant patient will do. They do not know much about what is written in the document and what is the effect of these medicines. For them doctors are like gods.
And, also they are claiming that no patient had died during the experiment! May be soon after discharge! It is true that everybody will die one day or another. But, should we die at the hands of doctors, for the sake of multinational companies?
Other Indian states also must take care of this situation. The same thing must be happening there also. The incident in Kerala should be a warning for other states. Please be vigilant.
Last words: ‘There is no difference between Yama* and a doctor,
But, without Yama even doctors’ cannot kill.’
(The above verses are translation of a famous Malayalam poet, Kunchan Nambiar)
*Yama (Yaman) is the mythological Lord of Death.
